PATRICK A. MAHER

Mr. Maher practices in insurance litigation, professional-liability defense, labor-and-employment law, sports law, and business litigation before both the state and federal courts of California. Mr. Maher graduated from Duke University in 2003 with a B.A. in History and Political Science and earned his J.D. from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law in 2006. Mr. Maher has practiced in California since 2006. Mr. Maher is admitted to practice in California and before the United States Courts of Appeal for the Fourth Circuit and the Ninth Circuit and has practiced pro hac vice in federal courts in Oregon, Arizona, and Washington, D.C.

 

VANESSA NATIVIDAD

Ms. Natividad has extensive background in the areas of general and complex civil litigation, mass torts, insurance coverage, personal injury, wrongful death actions, premises liability, products liability, business litigation, business contracts, and family law. Ms. Natividad is currently practicing in the areas of defending general liability claims, real estate litigation, and professional liability defense.

Vanessa graduated in 2007 from the University of California, San Diego with B.A. degrees in Political Science and History, and a Minor Degree in Law & Society; received a J.D. and a Certificate in International Comparative Law, magna cum laude, in 2010 from Whittier College School of Law. While in law school, Vanessa received a commendation award for her dedication and contributions as a competitive member of the Trial Advocacy Honors Board. Ms. Natividad was admitted to the California Bar in December 2010.

 

MICHELLE BALADY

Ms. Balady was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She has experience in civil litigation for both plaintiff and defense with extensive knowledge in all areas of personal injury law. Ms. Balady also has experience in professional liability defense, including medical malpractice and legal malpractice claims. Ms. Balady currently handles general liability defense claims.

Ms. Balady graduated in 2012 from the University of Southern California with a B.A. in Communication. Thereafter, she earned her J.D. from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, California. Ms. Balady has been practicing law in California at the state and federal levels since 2017.

 

PAULA VASQUEZ

Ms. Vasquez graduated from the Pepperdine University Rick J. Caruso School of Law in May 2022 and was sworn into the California Bar in December 2022.  A personal focus of Ms. Vasquez during law school was working with the Legal Aid Clinic towards poverty alleviation.  Prior to attending law school, Ms. Vasquez studied accounting at Texas Tech University from which she graduated in 2011.  Ms. Vasquez then worked as the director of accounting for a development firm in Lubbock, Texas for over seven years.

 

JESSICA C. DANCE

Jessica “Jess” Dance is an experienced attorney in the areas of business and commercial litigation, environmental litigation, trucking and transportation litigation, and bodily injury litigation on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants. Ms. Dance received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science with a Minor in Sociology from Washington & Jefferson College in 2015, her Juris Doctor Degree from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law in 2018, and her Master of Arts Degree in Political Management with a focus on global politics and global public relations from the George Washington University Graduate School of Political Management in 2023. As part of her undergraduate studies, Ms. Dance traveled to Sydney, Australia where she conducted an independent research study on issues of poverty and inequality. During her last semester of law school, she was a judicial extern for the Honorable John A. Houston, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California. As a component of completing her Master’s Degree, Ms. Dance traveled to Tbilisi, Georgia, where she met with various government officials, members of Parliament, Administration of the President of Georgia, U.S. Embassy in Georgia, diplomats, NGOs, experts in Georgian affairs, and other civil society members to address Georgia’s past, present, and future state of affairs with the European Union, NATO, and the United States. As an active member of her community, she has volunteered with various organizations, including Shared Hope International in Washington, DC where she combatted human trafficking, Habitat for Humanity, the Lemoyne Community Center, Big Brother Big Sister, and La Raza. She also holds certifications in life coaching and mentoring. Ms. Dance became a member of California Bar in 2021.

 

BLAKE CLINITE

Mr. Clinite was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He has broad experience in bodily injury litigation, premises liability litigation, business litigation, and entertainment law. 

Mr. Clinite graduated in 2017 from the University of Southern California, magna cum laude, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He received his J.D. in 2020 from Loyola Law School and was admitted to the California Bar in 2021.

JOHN W. MCCONNELL III

Mr. John “Jay” McConnell is a founding shareholder of the firm. Mr. McConnell has extensive experience in litigation of products liability cases; architects/engineers, attorney and insurance agents/brokers malpractice defense; environmental/ latent injury coverage issues; construction litigation; and the defense of municipalities, police officers and general liability matters.

Jay graduated cum laude in 1971 from the University of Southern California with a B.A. in History; received a J.D. in June 1974 from California Western School of Law, California Western Law Review; University of Southern California School of Law (third year); was admitted to the California Bar and Federal Bar in November 1974.
